Introducing: G.H. Bass & Co
G.H. Bass & Co, The creator of the iconic Penny Loafer, the outfitter of the U.S army and Olympians have an inspiring history.

1876, Maine – George Henry Bass was determined to make the very best ‘dance shoe’. Drawing inspiration from Nordic farmer attire, Bass put his own spin on the shoes designed for “loafing in the field”. Penny Loafers were then born and have gone on to become a modern-day everyday staple.
Bass first catered for the servicemen and outdoorsmen by supplying workwear attire. The catalogue titled ‘Bass Shoe for Hard Service’ amplifies the utilitarian nature of G.H. Bass as they are shoes designed to last and withstand external elements.
Bass’ mission was simply “to create the best possible shoe for the purpose it is intended”; this core value still stands strong today.

Here at Michael Stewart, we are proud to stock the Camp Moc boot, which was created to meet the demands of men who insist on top smart outdoor wear.
