Paul & Shark: Save The Sea
The luxury Italian brand Paul & Shark has implemented a sustainability project focused on saving the sea. Aimed to raise awareness of the vast amount of waste that gets dumped into the ocean, adding to the damage of the already polluted sea. SAVE THE SEA is a collection produced by Paul & Shark that uses certified recycled polyester filaments derived from plastic bottles left by consumers to pollute the environment. The sea is where Paul & Shark finds inspiration, it is a significant part of the brand's DNA, so it was important for the company to do its part and contribute to a more sustainable environment.
Over a 3 year period and in collaboration with multiple Japanese companies, Paul & Shark worked to turn plastic bottles from the sea into the polyester. They now use energy from renewable sources, as well as the use of solar panels and other energy supplied by hydroelectric plants. Each jacket made by Paul & Shark is equal to 27 plastic bottles. With the use of cruelty-free eco-wool that has been hand sheared from sheep in Tazmania alongside the use of recycled goose feathers and 100% organic cotton, their efforts toward sustainability are in full swing.
Fabrics used in the collection provide thermal insulation, and water and wind-resistant performance all while feeling comfortable and lightweight. A key piece from the collection is the Paul & Shark Field Jacket which we think is essential for those mid-season weather transitions. Constructed from a 100% nylon-polyester blend, it is a style that has been sustainably produced following their Save The Sea project.

Another key style from the collection is the Half-Zip Knit jumper, which is a luxury, lightweight style crafted from 100% wool. Detailed with the iconic Paul & Shark logo embroidered on the arm, coloured nylon patches on the shoulders, sleeves and neck, the technical design of this piece, is truly something else. What we love about this jumper is it can be worn solo in warmer months or as a layering piece for those cold and rainy days.
