Parajumpers Zavier & Jeordie Gilets - Reviewed
A versatile wardrobe essential. Gilets are must-have trend pieces that can be worn and styled whatever the weather. Living in the typical inclement British weather means that being adaptable to the elements is a must and a gilet can really help with that come Rain or Shine. Enter Parajumpers, we cannot recommend their outerwear enough and you should pay particular attention to the Zavier and Jeordie gilets! Check out Sam's review of these two brand-new AW22 styles below:
Hi guys, Sam here from Michael Stewart Menswear and you join me for the first time in the brand new Michael Stewart Studio. So this is where we create all our content, and this is where we photograph all the products that you'll see online. So hopefully, there's going to be a lot more quality videos, pictures all of that kind of good stuff coming your way. If there's anything that you would like to see more of, please do let us know, we are always open to suggestions.
Now, onto some good clothing of course. I'm here to talk about Parajumpers and two brand new gilets we've just had delivered for the autumn/winter season. Now I know we're sort of mid-summer and maybe it's a little bit warm to be thinking about layering up for winter but gilets are really, really versatile. You can wear them pretty much any time of the year. They don't necessarily have to be over a big heavy jumper, you can wear them as I do over a T-shirt, especially when, you know, you're in typical, temperamental British weather, it can't make its mind up if it's going to be raining, blowing a gale or the sun's going to be shining, something like one of these gilets is a great, sort of thing to have in your wardrobe. Now, we'll start with the one that I'm wearing. This is my own personal one, I absolutely adore it, it's just come in, and I had to snatch it up, it is the Zavier gilet in navy. So it is a quilted, usual sort of standard gilet, but it features a few different little things that I think just make this stand out against any of the others. It has got a honeycomb textured knit panel, sort of towards the back. It also has a fleece-lined collar and plenty of those Parajumper details that, if you know the brand, you'll recognise instantly, such as the yellow throat latch and of course plenty of zips, orange stitch detailing etc.
Before we go onto the next one, I want to just add a quick note. If Parajumpers isn't a brand that you're familiar with, I think it's about time you do get acquainted. It's an Italian brand, so of course so that Italian flare and that Italian style but they take all their inspiration from the Alaskan wilderness. As they take their inspiration from such a harsh terrain it means that their outerwear is absolutely exceptional. It's what they do best. They do have a nice collection of sweats, T-shirts, that kind of thing but it's their outerwear where they really, really excel and it's the thing that we buy into most, especially when it comes into autumn/winter and if you try on one of their jackets or own one of their pieces, you'll know what I mean when the quality is just out of this world. So not only do they look good, they actually do what they are meant to do, they are packed full of technical features, innovative fabrics, that kind of thing, they really are something different and something quite special.
So next let's talk about the Jeordie gilet. So this comes in the colour pencil which is a nice split-difference between black and grey. It's really a unique colour and one that you have to see I think in person to really appreciate. Of course, we'll give you as many images and videos as we can to try and show that off but it truly is something a little bit special. It's got a nice high sheen to the fabric but it's not too blingy, it's very, very tasteful and of course, it boasts all the typical little quirks that Parajumpers put into their items such again as the elasticated yellow throat latch, orange stitching, plenty of internal and two external pockets, metal branded hardware, you name it... it has got it. The down is a really great warmth but it's not too much so it's ideal for layering and truly just a unique and stand-out piece, I think it is one of the best in the collection that we've got coming through for Parajumpers this season.
So if you're after this kind of outerwear and you're maybe used to shopping Moncler or perhaps Belstaff I think you should turn your attention to Parajumpers if you haven't already, just to give something like this a go, it is probably right up your street. So, a brief introduction to Parajumpers and these two brand-new styles, we will have more coming in over the coming months so do keep popping into the store or keep an eye on michaelstewart.co.uk.
