Hi guys, it's Sam here from Michael Stewart Menswear, and we've just had a delivery to the studio of some fantastic new colourways in the Veja Rio Branco runners.
Today we're going to do a little unboxing for you, we're going to show you what they're all about and tell you a little bit more about Veja the brand itself. So let's unbox these and get straight into it.
Veja Rio Branco - Nautico/Pierre

So, we've got three pairs, two new colourways and one all-time classic. Let's start with the first pair, this is a new colourway for this season, it's called Nautico/Pierre. It's a lovely blue-on-blue with white detailing and the black Amazonian rubber sole which we'll get onto in a little bit.
The key feature on this one, of course, you can have those suede panels, is actually the Ripstop inner panels there. Ripstop is a fantastic material, it's lightweight, and very technical in the sense that it's used mostly for outdoor activities. It's tear-resistant hence the name 'Ripstop'.
Veja Rio Branco - Khaki/Black

This next pair in Khaki/Black also has that Ripstop material in there as well which makes these trainers great for this season. They're not just for summer, they're not just for walking around the streets, you can really use these for any occasion, and they're going to hold up.
I've got a pair myself, I've had them for about a year and a half now, and they've really lasted. They'll throw anything whether it's office work or it's actually working in the warehouse, shifting things about, I really do put them through their paces, and they have lasted very, very well.
Absolutely love the colourway on this Khaki/Black, it is very 'outdoorsy', and those earth tones look fantastic with those black 'V', the pop of colour to the heel and laces really do stand out.
Veja Rio Branco - Nautico/White/Orange

Lastly, we've got an all-time classic back again this season, it is the Nautico/White/Orange colourway. This has the Alvomesh as well as the suede, so this is even lighter-weight still. It's 100% recycled polyester which makes that very breathable, really easy to wear, and that colourway is so easy to style.
Note the pop of orange on the back there as well, just really sets it apart. We can't get enough of this one, and neither can you hence why it's back again this season.
How Sustainable Are They?
Now with these trainers, there's one thing you're going to get consistently throughout all of it, and that is the mid and outer sole which is made out of Amazonian rubber, sugar cane and rice waste which really lends towards Veja's goal to be responsible, sustainable and of course environmentally friendly.
All the Veja's are produced in Brazil, which is close to where their materials are sourced because the organic cotton for the laces and canvas is produced in Brazil and Peru. The rubber is actually harvested within the Amazon itself.
So, there we have it, three fantastic pairs. Let me know what you think in the comments below!
